Riptide Wrestling Club (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Riptide Wrestling Club mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
Information We Collect
When you create an account and use the App, we may collect the following information:
Account Information: Email address, password (encrypted), first and last name, phone number (optional), and account role (wrestler, parent, or coach).
Wrestler Profile Data: Weight class, team assignment, win-loss record, check-in history, achievement progress, skill progression, and match history.
Usage Data: Event RSVPs, announcement views, practice plan interactions, technique video views, and chat messages within events.
Location Data: If you enable location services, we collect location data solely for the purpose of check-ins at practice and event locations. Location data is not tracked outside of the check-in feature.
Payment Information: Registration payments are processed through Stripe via our website. The App does not collect or store credit card numbers or payment details. We store only your registration status and Stripe customer ID for account linking purposes.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: provide and operate the App’s features including event management, match tracking, achievement systems, skill progression, and team communication; send push notifications about events, announcements, and practice plans; display leaderboards and team rosters; enable parent-wrestler account linking; facilitate event-specific chat among RSVP’d participants; and improve the App’s functionality.
AI-Powered Features
The App offers an optional AI Match Analysis feature that sends your match statistics (not video or images) to a third-party AI service (Anthropic’s Claude API) to generate performance feedback. This data includes match scores, scoring events, and coach notes. No personally identifiable information beyond your first name is included in AI requests.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share limited data with: Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and push notification services; Stripe for payment processing verification; and Anthropic for AI match analysis (match statistics only, no personal data). All third-party services are bound by their own privacy policies.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time through the App (Profile → Delete My Account), which permanently removes all your personal data, match history, achievements, and skill progress from our systems.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account directly within the App by navigating to your Profile and selecting “Delete My Account.” This action permanently deletes your Firebase authentication account and all associated data stored in our database, including your profile, match history, achievements, skill progress, check-in records, and linked account connections. This action cannot be undone.
Children’s Privacy
The App is designed for use by wrestling club members, including minors. Accounts for minors are created and managed with parental consent through the parent account linking feature. We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the App’s features. Parents can view, manage, and delete their child’s account data at any time.
Security
We use Firebase Authentication for secure account management and Firestore security rules to ensure users can only access data appropriate to their role. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
Your Rights
You have the right to: access your personal data through the App; correct your information through the Profile settings; delete your account and all associated data; and opt out of push notifications through your device settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email.
